The football icon Diego Maradona received deficient and reckless health care before his death. Prosecutors in Argentina asked a panel of medical experts to investigate Maradona's medical team after his heart attack at his Buenos Aires home, aged 60, in November last year. Two of Maradona's daughters filed a complaint to start the investigations concerning their father's treatment after the brain operation. He had successful surgery on a brain blood clot earlier in November and was to be treated for alcohol dependency. He had trouble with cocaine and alcohol addiction. In March, prosecutors convened a panel of 20 medical experts to examine Maradona's cause of death and the findings were reported by local media in Argentina on Friday. It said Maradona had become seriously ill about 12 hours before his death in which he was not properly monitored and they his survival to fate. The experts said he may have had a better chance at a medical facility rather than his home. The panel concluded that the action taken by Maradona's health team was "inadequate, deficient and reckless", according to Reuters news agency. Maradona's personal doctor Leopoldo Luque, 39, and his psychiatrist are being investigated by prosecutors. After releasing the report, prosecutors will decide whether to bring any charges. They are considering manslaughter among the charges. Dr Luque denies any wrongdoing. In a press conference in November, he cried and said he had done all he could do up to impossible to save the life of a friend. The doctor shot back at reporters and said: "You want to know what I am responsible for? For having loved him, for having taken care of him, for having extended his life, for having improved it to the end."
